We’re looking for an experienced senior product designer to join the Crown and Co. team. 

As a senior product designer at The Crown and Co, you will be working predominantly with one of our clients on an investing platform, based from our East London studio 2-3 days per week. This will involve deep diving into the ways clients use the platform, improving existing features and identifying new opportunities to deliver value to clients. You’ll be hands-on in developing, designing and testing solutions.

We like our designers to get involved in research and user interviews, using insights to inform their work and keep things user-centric. You like tackling complex problems and can create smart, simple solutions. You’re great at ideation, narrowing down the options and stress-testing solutions. Testing and iteration are second nature, as is your inquisitive, strategic mindset.

We’re a small team and a growing agency so you’ll be given a lot of freedom to tackle your work. We’re not into micro-management so we’ll expect you to be highly organised and self-motivated, confident and able to collaborate well with designers, developers and clients.

As a senior member of the team, you will be confident leading projects and will be adept at handling feedback and pushing for the best outcome. You’ll be an excellent communicator, able to build rapport with clients and present in a clear, engaging way.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Leadership

• Work closely with the product owner and design lead using your expertise to improve the product and user experience
• Be organised and able to facilitate workshops with business owners, stakeholders and collaborators, capturing requirements and documenting outcomes 
• Define and design tests to validate and iterate on your ideas, conduct user research, and interpret results where appropriate
• Support the planning and management of deliverables, identifying and mitigating any risks to the timely delivery of tasks

Design & Delivery

• Design and optimise native mobile experiences and design systems
• Develop and prototype concepts from wireframes and low-fidelity designs to final high-quality designs and documentation with accessibility and responsiveness in mind
• Design and develop flows and interactions across the product
• You’ll be able to clearly articulate your design thinking and process with robust rationale for your design decisions 
• You’ll be a motivated team player, ambitious in your thinking and brave in your designs, with the ability to perform well under pressure
• Confident presenting to stakeholders of any seniority, collating feedback and actioning next steps

Agency

• Report on progress and support wider business development opportunities
• Contribute to the growth of our design agency and team culture

Essentials

• 5+ years in product-related design within an agency setting, with proven experience leading design teams and managing client relationships
• You’re strategically minded with an ability to think through business objectives, project limitations and user needs to create smart solutions
• You have extensive experience delivering complex, high-traffic digital products across the full product lifecycle, ideally in financial services
• Your portfolio showcases exceptional design and problem-solving abilities, underpinned by expertise in research, UX, interaction and visual design
• Experience designing and optimising native iOS/Android applications, with expertise in developing robust design systems
• An inquisitive mind – you enjoy exploring problems and ways to improve human experiences through iterative solutions
• You’re proficient in Figma, Adobe CC and can get up to speed quickly with the right tools for the job at hand

Additional Skills

• You won’t need to write any code, but understanding front/back-end development is an advantage.
• Your role will initially focus on one of our financial services clients, therefore a knowledge of trading and investing would be a bonus and help you hit the ground running.
