The Global Head of Retail Design will be responsible for shaping and elevating the in-store experience across all retail channels, including flagship stores and boutiques. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of luxury retail, strong design sensibility, and the ability to translate brand identity into immersive and engaging physical spaces. The successful candidate will oversee the global design strategy, ensuring consistency and excellence in execution while driving innovation and customer engagement.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and articulate the global retail experience design strategy in alignment with the brand’s vision and business objectives.
- Lead the conceptualization and design of flagship stores, ensuring they serve as the pinnacle of the brand’s retail expression and set the standard for all other retail formats.
- Provide strategic oversight and creative direction for visual merchandising and in-store experiences, ensuring global consistency while allowing for local adaptations.
Store Design & Visual Merchandising:
- Oversee the design and development of flagship stores in key markets, ensuring each location reflects the brand’s luxury positioning and unique identity.
- Collaborate with regional teams to ensure the flagship stores are executed to the highest standards, serving as a model for other retail locations globally.
- Lead the visual merchandising strategy to create captivating and dynamic product displays that drive sales and enhance the customer journey.
- Ensure that all store designs and visual merchandising strategies are consistently executed globally while allowing for local adaptations as needed.
Innovation & Trends:
- Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer preferences in luxury retail and experiential design.
- Continuously explore new materials, technologies, and design approaches to elevate the in-store experience globally.
Qualifications
- BA in Interior Design, Architecture, or Industrial Design, preferred Masters of Architecture
- Experience in retail design, visual merchandising, or related roles, with a significant portion spent in the luxury sector
- Knowledge of Design software: Illustrator, Adobe Creative Cloud, AutoCAD
- Position requires leadership skills and project management skills; ability to execute several projects in a timely and efficient manner; must be able to follow projects from inception to completion
- Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills
- Knowledge of retail environments (Department and Specialty Stores)
- Work independently and interface with Marketing, Sales, Field Teams, Merchandising, Packaging, and Creative Services departments.
