Here at innocent, we’re on a mission to make it easier for everyone to get more fruit and veg into their bodies. We started back in 1999 and since then we’ve gone from selling a few smoothies at a music festival to becoming one of Europe’s biggest drinks companies with around 1,000 people (and the B Corp seal of approval).

It’s nice to be able to say things like that but we’re not patting ourselves on the back just yet. We want to show everyone that it’s possible to be a successful business while looking after people and the planet too, so we’re trying to get better in pretty much every way. And that’s where this job comes in.

what you’ll be doing

Here in the creative team, we write a lot of words and stick them on a lot of different things. Sometimes that might be a billboard or a bottle. Other times it might be a booklet or a banana. Every once in a while, we’ll put those words on something that doesn’t begin with a b.
We’re on the hunt for a copywriter who is brimming with ideas and knows how to articulate them in a natural, funny, intelligent and unexpected way. Reporting into our senior copywriter, you’ll be responsible for looking after our tone of voice and written communication across the business. You’ll need to be a natural writer with a genuine love of language and a strong understanding of the creative process. If you like writing about crushed fruit, that’ll help too.
You’ll be:
  • Writing copy for packaging, customer marketing, digital channels and corporate communication
  • Working with other members of our creative team to come up with brilliant copy and visual ideas
  • Presenting and selling ideas to key stakeholders and marketing people
  • Developing, promoting and protecting the innocent tone of voice both in the UK and across Europe
  • Rigorously proofreading to make sure our words reach our drinkers with no typos or grammatical errors
  • Finding the most interesting stories from around the business then sharing them internally and with our drinkers
 
What you’ll be working on:
  • Packaging for all current innocent products and new product development
  • Big and little advertising campaigns
  • Website copy and email newsletters
  • Customer marketing (consumer hand-outs, in-store barkers, posters, trade press ads and store window comms)
  • Brand experiences, corporate and internal comms
  • Loads of other stuff that doesn’t fit into the five bullet points above

you’ll have

  • A portfolio of work that shows you’re as brilliant with a snappy five word headline as you are with a long-form editorial piece
  • A natural talent for writing clear, concise and grammatically flawless copy
  • A witty and imaginative way of writing (fruit puns are only one part of it)
  • Experience of working to tone of voice guidelines
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build great relationships with everyone you work with
  • The ability to manage projects from start to finish in a timely and efficient way
  • An attention to detail that a brain surgeon would be proud of
