And—Now are hiring a Middleweight Designer!
————
And—Now is a London-based creative agency that works with innovative businesses across the globe. We specialise in brand identity, visual messaging and ideas-based campaigns, helping our clients to identify their ‘meaningful difference’ and communicate it to maximum effect, through ambitious graphical solutions. We’re looking for a brilliant middleweight designer as the next addition to our growing team.
Interested? We’re in need of a curious, imaginative designer who is eager to learn and keen to contribute their ideas. This role is a brilliant opportunity to make your mark in a fast-growing team. You will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar agency (ideally with a focus on branding), and we’d love you to show us how you can take an idea from concept to execution in a well-rounded, imaginative portfolio.
As an agency we are proud to be small but perfectly formed, with excellent industry connections and the ability to generate and fulfil imaginative, research-driven ideas. Our mission (soon to be yours) is to fully immerse ourselves in the wide and varied work of our clients and develop beneficial creative solutions to be truly proud of.
We are happily multi-disciplinary, and require a designer with the enthusiasm to take on anything and everything. You don’t need to be able to turn your hand to every piece of software just yet, but a willingness to learn and grow as a designer is absolutely instrumental for all of our team members.
You’ll need:
• Excellent conceptual and design skills (no surprises there).
• A passion for research-fuelled design solutions (show us your sketchbooks and idea generation process!).
• A varied portfolio of work – ideally with evidence of previous branding projects – all with rationale and the evidence of the process behind them.
• Ability to articulate yourself and your work in front of the team.
• Ability to take initiative and accept constructive feedback from other team members and clients.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as the task at hand dictates.
• Excellent working knowledge of Adobe CC.
• A stickler for time management, and an ability to multitask and prioritise.
• A can-do, conscientious attitude.
Nice to have:
• Good working knowledge of Figma.
• Understanding of the process of website build, HTML and CSS (other code languages a bonus!).
• Previous experience liaising directly with development partners.
• Understanding of WordPress as a content management system.
• Working knowledge of Google Suite (creating Google slides and docs templates).
• Experience with moving image.
• Excellent quality of written communication (an interest in copywriting a bonus!).
• A desire to expand and cultivate your presentation skills.
How do we work?
• Everyone does everything, no one is above or below any project and every input is valid: from intern to director. This role is highly collaborative, and you will be called to share your ideas in group crits with every member of the team.
• Accountability is important to us: we take responsibility for our work (even if we make mistakes!).
• We create and maintain boundaries between work life, home life and clients. That requires you to be 100% present when you’re in the studio.
• We have a firm emphasis on participation, transparency and friendly, passionate discussion.
• We make sure everyone gets heard.
• We aren’t precious about ideas, they will be dismantled and made into something even better.
• We always support and recognise success.
• We have empathy with colleagues and clients and focus on cultivating relationships with people.
• We pledge to always keep learning and embrace the new, taking risks, but not at the expense of deadlines.
Working Routine:
Our working routine revolves around three compulsory in-studio days each week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). You will be based in our studio in Manor House, N4 and must enjoy the company of studio dogs. The remainder of the week is spent working remotely, though it will be possible to work more days from the office if you want.
Virtual vs Face-to-Face Interview?
If this sounds like the right fit for you, drop us an email. We’d like a short intro about yourself, why you think you’d be a good fit for the team and a PDF of two or three (maximum!) of your favourite projects. Try to include some branding work if you have it. You’ll need to have your full portfolio for the interview. We look forward to meeting you!
